| Gilles & Cecilie are changing the face of KHIO. |
|
International design team 'Gilles & Cecilie' are here in Oslo in order to change the face of KHiO's faculty for design! The face of the KHiO building in Nordal Bruns Gate has been covered with "tags" for the past three years. This has had a detrimental effect on the spirit of those who use the building, or merely walk down the street. In response to this, the faculty for design have asked Gilles & Cecilie to work with first year Graphic Design students, in order to emphasise the positive side of graphic image making. The students have been asked to create a mural to replace the tags, which have sprayed onto the walls. Tags are personal signatures that are mistakenly described as graffiti. However, graffiti artist dispute this! It is the aim of KHiO faculty of Design to demonstrate by example, that young designers are a creative and positive force in our urban environment. Moreover, they are able to create graphic visual imagery that is not ugly or damaging to our surroundings. 01. SEPTEMBER 2006 - www.dorigislason.com "Just a quick thank you note on behalf of all of us on the design faculty at KHiO, for the work you did and the way you inspired the students. What a great kick off to the year for them. We all enjoyed it so much and the wall looks great, as it has brought life to the street." Maziar Raein, head of MA Visual Communication. . |
