| Bestemor ser deg! |

We did a workshop called: If there is no passion you are out of fashion, for the interdisciplinary week at KHIO where students from all disciplines can choose which workshop they would like to attend. We got 14 students on our workshop, a mix of furniture, fashion and graphic design students to embark our performance project. The brief was to create a performance in public space for a defined audience. We did ideas and concept building the first day and the students decided to do this project as a whole group. They had several ideas and the decision fell on the project Bestemor ser deg, which translates to Grandma is watching you. A project that prompts a comment to all the rapes that had been conducted in Oslo last winter. The students intervewed grannies on the streets, took their photos and printed lifesize grannies, glued them on woodboards and placed 50 of them around the spot where the rapes had taken place. You could see grannies in the shop windows, in private flats, in the park. The students got wide press coverage (Dagsavisen, Aften Aften & Østlands-sendinga) and continued the debate with the main question: how can we stop this and who is responsible for this? |
